Welcome to my website!
Here you can find the latest information about me and my work, including a great record of projects, publications and other references.
I am excited to introduce to you my new, upcoming project Encounters (ice trays).
‘Encounters (ice trays)’ is made possible thanks to the support of ‘Commissie LIVE’, Fonds BKVB, The Netherlands.

Encounters (ice trays) is part of 'Encounter Place' the series. The piece is a variation of the previous 'friend' and 'enemy’ drinking glasses concept. I created the trays to make ice cubes in the shape of the word ‘friend’ and the word ‘enemy’. When put together in the same glass, they let go of their differences by melting into one another. Two shapes with opposite meanings unite by sharing a common goal: ‘to cool down our drinks’.

The world is changing and new dynamics are finding their way thanks to the formation of new conditions.
An interesting case is the controversy Bacardi vs. Havana Club. After 50 years of commercial and legal battle neither of these two rum brands has succeeded to put the other out of the market. In addition, the rules of the game completely changed when the Cuban Government joined forces with major international company Pernod Ricard to develop Havana Club worldwide.
Having learned from each other’s differences, both have developed a better awareness of themselves. Bacardi has grown into a global brand through powerful and upbeat marketing activation, while Havana Club has distinguished itself internationally for its exclusive and romantic touch.
So what would be the case if Bacardi and Havana Club come together and use their differences to collaborate, cross-fertilize and boost international success for rum?
The world gets more competitive on the one hand and more collaborative on the other. Perhaps life is inviting us to see how ‘friends’ and ‘enemies’ come together and let go of their differences for the sharing of a common goal…!
